The work connotes an aspiration to escape from the reality, but the place to go is unknown and indefinite. Books of the material which means the symbolic system in the existing world order come off in the process of pasting and sanding. The imagery of noplace is described by referring to old maps. Can it be navigated?
이 작품은 현실에서 벗어나고자 하는 열망을 내포하고 있다. 하지만 벗어나 갈 곳은 아직 알 수 없다. 기존 세계에서 상징과 질서를 의미하는 책(언어, 상징체계)의 페이지들이 작업 과정에서 벗겨진다. 그 과정에서 오래된 지도를 참조해 항해를 위한 상상의 세계가 그려진다.

The work diagnoses that language is easy to be efficiently embraced within the existing social system while being understood. So, the works conceal the communicative and violent nature. There have been 3 ways of concealment tried. In the first piece, words were written densely in minute size that is illegible. In another piece, words collected from pre-existing novels were printed by thinner. By cut-up technique (it is an aleatory literary method. It destroys a primary text using the random cutting-up of words), collected words are rearranged and a new text is created. In its process, connective particles and adverbs among sentence components are left and become a medium of expression except for nouns. In the last work, words were written and then erased on a paperboard, and another board with words is piled behind it. Through holes penetrated, bits of words are seen.
이 작품은 언어가 이해되는 과정에서 기존의 사회질서에 포섭되기 쉽다고 진단하는 것에서 시작된다. 따라서 이 프로젝트는 언어의 의사전달의 성질을 감춘다. 이를 위해 세 가지 방식이 시도된다. 첫 번째 작품에서 단어들은 읽지 못하는 크기로 아주 빼곡하게 쓰인다. 두 번째 작품에서 단어들은 원래 존재하던 소설에서 발췌되어 신나를 이용해 종이에 찍어진다. 오려내기 기술(우연적인 문학 기법으로, 무작위의 오려내기 방법을 통해 본래의 텍스트를 훼손함)을 이용해 수집된 단어들은 재배열되고 새로운 텍스트가 생성된다. 이 과정에서 문장성분 중 접속사와 부사가 주로 남겨지고 표현의 매개로 작동한다. (명사는 제외되었다) 마지막으로 단어들이 작성되었다가 지우개로 다시 지워지고, 새로운 종이판지가 그 뒤에 덧대어졌다. 뚫린 구멍을 통해 일부 단어들만 보일 뿐이다.
